Hi!
This building in downtown Vancouver was the Salvation Army Hostel for men for over 50 years. It started it’s life as a budget hotel around 1919 I believe, and was purchased by the Sally Ann
organization around 1950 as this area has always been a buffer zone between the respectable financial district and the downtown eastside. When the Sally Ann built a new facility about 4 years ago a block away, A backpackers hostel bought the place, and it’s now acheap digs for students who can’t find anything else as Vancouver is the most expensive city in Canada. This building is in the 500 block of Dunsmuir Street.
